Friends of Pam

Friends of Pam

Tough Week - It has been a very tough week for Pam both physically and emotionally. She had chemo last Friday and has pretty ill for the several days following. For the first time she became naseaus at the chemo treatment and they gave her some new drugs to counter that. They don't want her to become psycho-somatic to going to chemo (meaning that her brain will make her sick even if the drugs don't). One of the pills they gave her has THC (chemical found in Marijuana), so she is calling it her "Pot Pill". Unfortunately these new drugs to fight the naseau create more side effects that she dislikes even more. All of this has gotten her down. She broke into tears the other night in frustration and fatigue from the situation. She is sick of it. To top it off, she has Chemo on Nov. 22 and Dec. 22nd, this will make for unpleasant holidays. All Pam wants for Christmas is to be cancer free!

On a positive note however, they took an x-ray of her chest on Friday and you can barely make out the tumor anymore! This is good news. We have a PET scan scheduled for Dec. 4th, this will tell us what the next several months will bring. Stay tuned for this.

The kitchen is coming along nicely, a big thanks to Ted and Arnold for great work! Also another huge thank you to everyone for the meals and contributions!! They are a god-send. We truly feel blessed with the support we continue to get, and appreciate it more than we can share with you.

I will update again in a week or two.
Troy.
