Oops! So much for once a week ....
Well, in a nut shell, that's a good thing , I guess. We are really just playing and enjoying summer and trying not to really think about this thing called cancer all the time. And with three (ok Troy, four) busy boys at home, the day whips by with who knows what, and I usually end it with, "I'll update it tomorrow".
The boys had a few busy and fun weeks with tennis lessons, swim lessons, skateboard camp, and soccer camps (that's between the three of them). We hosted our most successful 5k on the 4th thus far with 61 runners. Then took off to Bethel for five days for some R&R with my family. That was a joke of course. Anyone who knows the Chase clan and it's extendeds knows it's fun when we all get together, but relaxing??? No Way!! I crashed hard when we came home, rested (for real), laundered a billions little t-shirts and undies, and repacked to head to Lake Willoughby for a week with our dear friends, the Oxfords. This was by far the best therapy thus far!!! (I'm not knocking my radiation and of course my stem cell transplant at the beautiful FAHC resort, I hope those were the most successful, but Willoughby rejuvenated my soul!) Sailing, laughing, swimming, laughing, hiking, laughing, kayaking, laughing, and ripping it up on a waterski with a smile from ear to ear!
So now that we just got back....
And now that it's nearing the end of July....
You're all wondering "when's the PET scan?"
Well ..... today. This morning I had it and at the end of the week we will meet with Dr. Unger and see where we go next. As open as Troy and I are, and always have been, "celebrate together the good, support together the bad" - this (PET scan) was something we were going to experience first, alone. Our way of trying to remain relaxed about this is to just bask in the wonderful vacation we just had and not think or talk about it. We need to just hear what we hear just us together. But somehow, one knew the date, then two .... So that's the skinny. Keep it normal. Call if you normally call. BLOG or email if you normally BLOG or email. Or, we'll just keep seeing you all out and about , "normally" :) And we'll update you all at the end of the week. Have a good one, think sun! :)
Lots of love to all - Pam
